zach holzberg

Zach is an actor, writer, and creative originally from the Philly area in the US, now based in Liverpool. He is currently on the Liverpool Royal Court's Stage Write Playwright Development Programme. He worked in TV/Film development while living in LA with production companies such as CALICO and December Films, and is a dramaturg with a passion for developing new work. He trained at LIPA, where he received his MA in Acting after completing his BA in Theater and Film & Media Arts at Temple University in Philly.

Zach enjoys writing about nitty gritty, contemporary things often through a non-human and/or magical lens, and his work can be described as sometimes Jewish, sometimes queer, and always strange.

Before moving to the UK, Zach performed with theatres including the Hedgerow Theatre, the American Gothic Performing Arts Festival, and BTTB in the States. In the UK, he's performed with Ricochet Theatre, at the Hope Theatre, and acted in short films. He's directed in the US as well as for R&Ds in the UK, and most recently had his play Rabbit Hunt performed as part of the Off Cut Play Festival at 53two, in addition to his work being presented at scratch nights. He is also a puppeteer and presenter frequently on tour with RentaDinasaur, and is an audiobook narrator.
