I’m relatively new to writing and came to it via acting classes (North West End acting in Chester). Post-COVID, I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone and auditioned for the Chester Mystery Plays and was somewhat amazed to be cast as Pontius Pilate. After that, I got the bug and have been taking acting classes since 2023. Last year, I appeared in Red or Dead at Liverpool Royal Court and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes at Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre. I have also written the screenplay for a short film that we hope to film in September, and a previous short film I wrote (originating as a monologue) ’The Horned Woman of Saughall’ was accepted in competition for the Manchester Film Festival in March.
The acting has led to writing, and I have written several monologues and duologues for performance (regular monologue slams in Chester) and show reel tapes. My co-written play 'Baggage Reclaim' was performed at Scratch at Shakespeare North in 2025 and, as a result, was booked for two full performances there in March of this year.
I have had two short plays, ‘In Loco Parentis’ (2025) and 'Room 10,’ (2026) selected and performed at the INK Festival of short plays. Both plays were professionally directed and performed several times over the 4 days of the festival, and I received really positive feedback. I've also just finished a short play for submission to INK 2027.
I have been working on writing my first full-length play (i.e. >1 hour) and currently have two projects ongoing, "‘Room 10” and “What Remains”.
