Born in Liverpool and raised in Kirkby, I am currently based in Burscough enjoying my early retirement which allows me to indulge in my love of writing. I have always written – someone made the fatal mistake of publishing a poem of mine in the local paper when I was about nine, which must have convinced me that I had some talent! – and in high school I enjoyed writing and performing in rag shows.

However it wasn’t until I retired that I was able to give more time to playwriting. I have attended a number of acting and writing courses at the Merseyside Academy of Drama, and I recently completed the Royal Court Playwright Development Programme. I am an active member of the Liverpool Playwrights and the Liverpool Scratch Network, and I have had several pieces performed on the Liverpool Fringe. I look forward to having my work performed in the mainstream theatre.
